Are You PASSIONATELY Alive?
Hello, my friends in Oneness,
I guess if you have to ask yourself this question, the answer is 'NO'.
And that's cool. I get it. I would go as far as to say that most people breathing today aren't 'PASSIONATELY' alive. That's a pretty big word there ('passionately') with a lot of emotion, meaning, and yes, passion attached to it. But it's natural for us to take our lives for granted to a degree. Most of what we need to do to be considered alive come naturally, automatic, and without thought (read: breathing). So, if our most important function happens without us even thinking about it, how could we have the degree of appreciation for life that one would categorize as 'passionately'? We can't. Because there's no immediate threat of losing that function.
Unless there is an immediate threat.
It's no great mystery why people with life-threatening illnesses suddenly become passionately alive. It's because they're facing the aforementioned immediate threat. Once someone finds out that they could potentially die, they naturally look at life from a much different perspective. Their appreciation and gratitude for life take on new meanings. They recognize the beauty in nature that in prior times they may have passed right by. They understand the gift that life truly is (Hey, that's why it's called 'the present'!) But does it have to come to that?
Do you have to be given a life-threatening diagnosis to live passionately?
The answer is 'hopefully not', which reminds me of a famous quote from T.S. Eliot:
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
When I first read this quote many years ago, I surmised that he was talking about what happens when we die. I still believe that to be true, but with a caveat. We will all have that 'Ah-ha moment', that monumental feeling of incredible joy, love, and celebration when we transition back home at some point in time. But, indifference to Mr. Eliot's point, I don't believe that we will 'know the place for the first time', I believe that we will clearly remember and recall our true home, and that is why that reunion with God, Oneness, and our loved ones, is a celebratory bliss that is difficult for us to fathom. But the topic for discussion and the question at hand then becomes:
How do we live this life as passionately as possible while we are here?
We all know how fragile and unpredictable life is. We need to use this as the foundation for our gratitude. If we do take anything in life for granted, STOP IT NOW! If there is one guarantee in life, it's that there are no 'guarantees'. I believe what most of us take for granted, to one degree or another, is our bodies. Our bodies are designed to protect and take care of us for our journey on Earth. But, damn it if we don't take that truth for granted! Educate yourselves. Literally, look at the shit that we consume on a daily basis. I can speak from experience, if you don't change your diet at some point in time for the better, you will be forced to at some point in time (if you want to live).
What if these were your 'last days on Earth'?
We've all heard this before. It's the standard 'go-to' when discussing this topic of living passionately. But does it truly resonate with you? Or is this just something else that you might be taking for granted? Be honest with yourself. Being passionately alive means that you're fully in tune with your awareness. It is not from a place of fear, but rather a foundation of love and appreciation. It means that you are in sync with all that is, and you are one with the frequencies that keep you there. You understand the gift that this life truly is. You are most definitely more in tune with the spiritual essence of life. You understand that you are a 'Spiritual Being having a Human experience', and although this human experience is finite, you in fact are not. It is in knowing that we are infinite beings that allows us to appreciate this 'opportunity' for exactly what it is...'AN OPPORTUNITY'! It's a chance for us all to experience this game we call life. To thrill and revel in the excitement that each passing moment provides us. To be creators.
